Betty (Clark) Huebscher

d. September 15, 2022

Stillwater, Minnesota

Betty Ann Huebscher, 88, of Stillwater, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 15th, 2022. Betty was a beloved wife of 65 years, mother of four, grandmother of 17, and great-grandmother of six.

Betty was born in 1933 to Glenn and Hilda Clark in Minnesota. After graduating from Naches High School in Washington, she went on to study Christian Education at Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN, where she met her sweetheart Lenard Huebscher. Betty and Lenard were married in 1957 and celebrated 65 years of faithfully loving each other.

Betty and Lenard went on to have four children: Susan Labadorf (Paul), Karin Huebscher (deceased), Stephen Huebscher (Elizabeth), Elisabeth Vork (Shadrack).

Betty helped her husband as he finished college, where she was his English teacher, and then as he went to seminary. Together they served in many churches in Minnesota and Iowa. Betty’s many talents were a great asset to her husband and the churches. She taught Sunday School, worked in children’s clubs, ran the church office, and hosted many people for Sunday dinner. She provided lodging for visiting pastors and missionaries. She kept in touch with former church members even when they moved away.

Anyone who knew Betty knew she loved music. She loved going to concerts and especially enjoyed Handel’s Messiah at Christmas. She played the piano at church and was a passionate piano teacher for students of all ages for many years. Because of Betty, her children were able to take not only piano but also violin and flute lessons. Eventually she even taught many of her grandchildren to play the piano as well.

Most important to Betty was her faith in the Lord Jesus as her Savior. She loved God’s Word, read it faithfully, and tried to live by it.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Karin, parents Glenn and Hilda Clark, sister Shirley Kruse, and brothers Truman and Chester Clark. She is survived by her sister Nida Ryan, brother George Clark (JuDee), husband Lenard, children Susan, Stephen, and Elisabeth, grandchildren: Christa, Jenny, Nathaniel, James, Kathryn, Karin, Peter, Edward, Johanna, Micaiah, Matthew, Rebekah, Abigail, Caitlin, Justin, Aaron, Micah, and great grandchildren: Karis, Isaiah, Asher, Caleb, Niki, and Keziah, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.

The funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 1365 Westminster Street, St. Paul, MN at 11:00 on Saturday, September 24th. The visitation begins at 9:30. The service will be followed by a luncheon at the church. The burial service will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford, MN at 3:00.

Memorial gifts may be given to Grace Baptist Church, Stillwater, MN.

She will be greatly missed by family, friends, piano students, and neighbors.
