Brian Nelson

Brian Nelson passed away on March 3, 2021 at the age of 63 at home surrounded by family. Brian built a beautiful life with his wife of 33 years, Ann, and his 'girlies' - daughters Erica and Kelly. Brian had a curious mind, was always interested and interesting, and was generous with his time and talents. He was a proud alumnus of the University of Minnesota with degrees in business and psychology and had a long career as a data architect. He was an enthusiastic and innovative cook, and loved music, especially jazz, funk and big band. Famous for his sense of humor and love of elaborate practical jokes, he brought joy and laughter to all of us. He was a passionate lifelong Vikings fan. He is remembered as a dedicated and sweet father, a loving husband and a loyal friend. Brian was loved dearly and will be forever missed. He is survived by wife Ann Sweeney, daughters Erica (Jacob and grandson due May 2021) and Kelly, brother Steve (Cathy) Nelson, sisters Lynn (David) Homzik, Leslie Blake and Karla (Jerry) McBrady and many family and friends. A celebration of life will be scheduled in Fall of 2021 when it is safe to gather. The family suggests memorials to Fair Fight, the Minnesota DFL or your local food shelf.
