Maddux, Charles (Chuck) Kenneth
With family members by his side, Chuck passed away peacefully at the Minneapolis Veteran's Home, in Minneapolis, MN, December 12, 2024, after a courageous seven year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Juanita Maddux. He is survived and missed by his wife Judith of 43 years (nee Erickson), two daughters Dawn (Brian) and Kim (Keith), and three sons, Doug (Colleen), Steve (Stacy) and Thomas (Michelle). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Chris, Mikey, Zach, Josh, Julianna, Jordan, Jenna, Jillian, Haley, Tanna and Jesse, Sister Dorothy (Roger) and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Chuck was born in Lexington, KY, on December 29, 1939. His beloved adoptive parents, Douglas and Juanita Maddux, moved the family to Nashville, TN. Following graduation from Peabody High School, he enrolled at the University of Nashville. In 1959 he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in England as a medic. When discharged he moved to Minneapolis and accepted a position in Northwestern National Bank of Minnesota's computer department, which led to selling securities to financial institutions. While there he met Judith, they married in 1981. From the bank he went to American Express, assisting employees with their pensions, health care, etc.
Chuck was generous, kind, helpful and funny. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He enjoyed golf, photography, reading, and exploring the North Shore with Judith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on January 31st at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, St. Paul. Visitation at 10:00AM, Memorial Service at 11:00AM and Luncheon at 12:00PM. The Service will also be live-streamed at: https://www.gloriadeistpaul.org/. Private interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials suggested to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Our family wishes to thank the staff at the Minneapolis Veteran's Home for the extraordinary care they gave to Chuck these last two years.
