Charles "Chuck" Dodge

Charles “Chuck” Dodge, age 71, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2020 following a long and brave battle with cancer. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Gertrude (Gretchen). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy; son, Dayton (Andrea); grandchildren, Jack, Carter and Ruby; brothers, Gary (Mary), Scott (Sue); sisters, Sandy (Dean), Laurie (Frank); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Chuck attended high school at Ellsworth, WI, where he earned All American honors playing basketball for the Panthers. He was recruited by the University of Kansas, After one year at KU, he transferred to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where he played out his eligibility. Chuck earned two bachelor degrees at UND: one in Business Administration and the other in Elementary Education. Chuck taught school and coached in Grand Forks and in Tulsa, OK. In subsequent years, he was an independent contractor painting, remodeling and managing rental properties in the Twin Cities area.

Faith in Jesus and family were the two most meaningful and important things to Chuck. He enjoyed leading small home fellowship groups over the years-worshiping and studying the Word of God with fellow believers. He counted himself fortunate to have family that lived nearby and enjoyed the regular get togethers his siblings would hold during the year. At the end of any family gathering Chuck could be found playing catch in the yard with his son and grandkids.

Chuck will be missed as a loving husband and companion, and as a great dad and doting grandfather. He was considered a godfather by many beautiful children, now grown, who were dear to him to the end. His family is so grateful for his generous heart and the legacy of love and loyalty that he entrusted to them.
