Concepcion Cuellar

Concepcion Cuellar (Chon) passed away at home late morning, at the age of 92, on January 28th, 2022. Surrounded by his loving familia, as he always lived his life.

Concepcion was born to Benita Carrizales and Adolfo Cuellar in San Antonio, Tejas. He was married to Guadalupe Cuellar. He worked at Bailey Nurseries for over 40 years and retired in 2013, although despite he was told he is now retired, he still went to work! He would tell the familia, Joe Bailey said, I can come to work whenever I want. He has always been, strong as an ox.

Again, Chon has always been as strong as an ox, but very loving, caring, and a giving man. He loved to joke and laugh. He enjoyed telling us stories about how he grew up. His experiences and the ways things were back in those days. He had a passion for fishing, dancing to rancheras, cumbias, or just playing around with his grandchildren. He always enjoyed handing out cash to the grandchildren. You could clearly see his huge smile of joy, especially when he would get so many hugs and kisses in return. Hugs and kisses always. He often acted like his English was as good as his Spanish. He would always make sure to tell us “I love you, to you”, “I Iove you, to you.”

Concepcion survived by children – Martha (Reynaldo), Sylvia. Grandchildren – Vickie (Gilberto), Elias, Cynthia (Paul), Daniel, Veronica (Chad), Mario (Mandy), Angelica (Robert), Alma, Sonya (Carmine), Stephanie, Reymundo, Julian, Jessie (Tony). His muchos  great grandchildren, familia and friends.

Concepcion rejoined his loves ones in heaven and has been reunited with his wife Guadalupe, his daughter Lupe, son Adolfo, grandchildren, Valentin (Jr) and Joey.

A Memorial will be held on Thursday, February 10th: Saint Stans Church, 398 West Superior St., St. Paul, MN 55049. Visitation is from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Service begins at 11:00 AM.
