Dale was born on December 18, 1950 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Thomas Cavalier and Carol Carroll. He served in the United States Armed Forces and had recently retired after a long and successful career as a Postmaster at the United States Postal Service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cavalier, and mother Carol Carroll.
Dale was a man who taught those around him to stay calm and be positive. He taught those around him the nature of mercy. He filled the world with humor, fun, and generosity. He was the life of the party. Those who knew Dale felt safe around him and benefited from his wisdom and guidance. He was a fighter; brave and strong. He lived to serve others and would sacrifice anything for his loved ones. The great memories we all have of him will be his legacy forevermore.
