In loving memory of Chief Petty Officer David Lee Holliday, the embodiment of dedication, resilience, and love, who passed away leaving behind a legacy of valor and family devotion. Born on July 9, 1952, in Amery, Wisconsin, David's early dreams of sailing the high seas materialized into a distinguished 22-year career in the United States Navy, where he served his country with honor and distinction. A testament to his exemplary service, David was awarded numerous decorations, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with a bronze Star, and notably, the Navy Achievement Medal, which he cherished above all. David's life was a journey of adventure and purpose, touching shores in over 50 countries, embodying the spirit of exploration and discovery. Beyond his military accolades, he found joy in the simplicity of life - hunting, fishing, reloading, and rock polishing, skills that mirrored his meticulous nature and ability to find beauty in the rawest forms. A skilled welder by trade, David's hands crafted not only materials but also the bonds of family and friendship that held strong throughout his life.
David leaves behind a loving wife, Karen, children Angela and James (Casey), and a cherished legacy continued by his grandchildren James, Veronica, Anthony, David, Dylan, Angela, Shawann, Tyler, and Aubree, who along with his 12 great-grandchildren, will carry forward his values of courage, love, and perseverance. Preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Ann Holliday, he is also survived by his sister, Diane Holliday-Schafer, and brother, Daniel Holliday.
