Deborah Townsend

Deborah Townsend, 70, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025.

She was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1955 to Geraldine and Alvin Dye and spent most of her early childhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she later in life loved to sing to her children and grandchildren in Portuguese.

Deb graduated from Billings Senior High School in Montana and moved to Mankato, Minnesota to attend college at Mankato State University. It was while attending college she met her husband of 39 years, Jeff Townsend. From this union they moved to the Twin Cities Area where they raised three beautiful children; Graham, Christina and Leticia.

Deb enjoyed working with children. She spent a dedicated career working with children at Hunts Bus Company, Brooklyn Center School District and Parents In Community Action Head Start as a school bus driver and as a Nutrition Specialist.

Deb LOVED her family. She enjoyed spending time watching her children and grandchildren grow up, and especially so at musical and sporting events. She enjoyed art, bowling, dancing, gardening, pets, travel, socializing, going to the casino and going out to eat. She was a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan who often took great pleasure teasing her husband's team the Cleveland Browns.

To have known Deb is to have loved her. She was witty, with a warm heart and beautiful smile.

Deb leaves to keep her memory alive, loving husband of 39 years Jeff, son Graham (Kimberly), daughters; Christina (Mario), Leticia (deceased) (Lamont), grandchildren; Khalil, Neveaha, Lamari, Myricle, brother Ronn (Melissa), sister Elizabeth (John), father-in-law Jesse Jr., brother-in-laws; Jesse III (Cindy), Tim, Brian (Whitney) and Stan (Tracy). Plus a host of nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

A private service with only immediate family members will be held at Deb's request.
