DeShawn John Harden

September 24, 1993 — June 24, 2022

Minneapolis

On September 24th 1993, the world was introduced to DeShawn John Harden. Born at Trinity Hospital to parents Tressie Denise Tankson-Harden and David Corey Harden in Chicago, Illinois. DeShawn was the second oldest to three other siblings. At the age of three, the family moved to Minnesota, living in Saint Paul for most of his childhood. DeShawn attended John A. Johnson High School where he entertained his interests in baseball, like his dad, wrestling and other things of his interest. After high school, DeShawn chose a path in the military following his Grandfathers and Uncles careers by joining the U.S. National Guard where his graduating with his fellow classmates was his crowning achievement. He was so proud. After his term with the services, DeShawn took on various security jobs in his spare time. DeShawn loved playing video games, watching Animae, playing devil’s advocate to family and friends, and lately, doing his comical Tik Tok videos.  DeShawn loved different genres of music which ultimately led him to meeting his girlfriend Shylo Stevens. After dating her for a period, DeShawn and Shylo moved into their own apartment. DeShawn decided to adopt a friend, his buddy, a dog named Chako and a cat named Lyla.

DeShawn loved spending time visiting with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews and little cousins. That was the kid in him.

DeShawn’s untimely transcendence leaves to celebrate his life and memories; his Mom, Tressie Tankson-Harden; Dad, David Harden; oldest brother, Darius; younger sister, Parece; youngest brother, Cory; his partner Shylo; Aunts, Carla, Leslie, (Late Aunt Patrice), Juana, Vickie, Liza, Mae and Angie; and Uncles, Brue, Andre, John, Kevin, Anthony, (late Uncle Dion) and spouse Marietou Bagayoko. DeShawn had special friends, you know who you are. A host of cousins and acquaintances.

He was preceded in transcendence by his Grandparents, Essie and John Harden and John Tankson.

DeShawn left us all with a teachable moment…
