DiAnn Fern (Mudgett) Cooper

DiAnn Fern Cooper (née Mudgett), 72, passed away December 10, 2023 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born May 11, 1951 in Watertown, South Dakota to Harland and Fern Mudgett. DiAnn grew up on a farm near Henry, South Dakota with her 13 siblings. She graduated from Henry High School in 1969 before moving to Watertown where she worked at Midland National Life in the underwriting department.

In 1970 she married the love of her life Michael (Mike) A. Cooper and they moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota where Mike pursued his bachelor's degree at Northern State College. After living in Brookings, South Dakota and Burnsville, Minnesota, they settled in Hartford, South Dakota. DiAnn and Michael were blessed with two daughters, Crystal and Aimee.

After working for Shakstads and Green Thumb, DiAnn retired in 1998 to Mission, Texas. There she spent her days golfing, gardening, singing karaoke and traveling with Mike and their friends. She also enjoyed secret shopping, participating in paid surveys, and will always be remembered for having a coupon.

DiAnn was a loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by daughters Crystal McIntyre (Terry) and Aimee Cooper, grandchildren Dylan (Sarah) Hoek, Jazzmine Jackson, Taylor (Shantaveous) Hoek, and step grandchildren Meagan, Macy and Barrett McIntyre. Great grandchildren Bentley and Brycen Hoek (parents Dylan and Sarah Hoek) and Paisley, Tanner and Aysia Hoek (Parents Taylor and Shantaveous Hoek).

DiAnn was preceded in death by her soulmate Mike, mother and father Harland and Fern Mudgett, father-in-law James Cooper, her sisters Gayle Brekke and Delores Mudgett, her brothers-in-law John Graves, Ronald Berner, Berniel Aslesen, and Leonard McClung, and great grandson Kaycen Hoek (parents Taylor and Shantaveous Hoek).

Services will be held at the Congregational Church in Clark SD at 1pm Saturday, December 16th.
