The Reverend Diantha Brown, daughter of R. Curtis Harris and Marion McMaster Harris, passed away Friday, December 4th 2020 in Saint Paul, MN.
Diantha was born in Homer, NY in 1939. The youngest of eight, Diantha worked for Pan AM in 1960 before marrying and starting a family. In the 1980's Diantha completed a Masters in English (Summa cum Laude) at SUNY Cortland before obtaining a Masters of Divinity at Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, NY and being ordained a reverend in the United Church of Christ. Following her ordination, Diantha served as pastor at several churches: Morganville UCC in Stafford, NY; Trinity UCC in Rochester, NY; First Congregational UCC in
Eldora, IA, and First United Church, UCC in Belvidere, TN.
Diantha spent the last years of her retirement in Saint Paul, MN to be close to her grandchildren.
Diantha is survived by her sons, James McNerney, Matthew McNerney, and Liam McNerney; daughter-in-law, Andrea Gross; grandsons, Maxfield and August; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by first husband, James E. McNerney; second husband, E. Mike Wimer; siblings, Margaret Fiske, Theodore Harris, Edith Dewey, Richard Harris, and Rachel Mackey.
