Donna Myrum, age 86, left this life unexpectedly to be with her Lord and Savior, and to reunite with her cherished family. She passed away Thursday evening, May 2, 2024, during a visit with family in the Minneapolis area. She retired about 10 years ago and moved to Tennessee in 2021.
In her death, the community loses a citizen of good repute. Her family grieves the loss of their kind, loving sister and aunt. Donna was the third child born to Bror and Mabel (Hanson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, establishing the foundation for her belief in Jesus Christ, while she was raised on her family's farm in Leonard, Minnesota. It was there that she created fond memories with her family and friends, attended a country school near her home, and graduated from Clearbrook High School. After graduating, Donna relocated to the Minneapolis area, where she built a life, found love, and made her home.
Regular in her simple habits of life, she was always found faithful. Donna loved life, her family & friends, her fur babies, especially Scamper and Jo-Jo, and most of all, her natural tendency to take care of people. In addition to being a homemaker, and when she was not working with others, she could often be found enjoying her favorite cup of coffee, knitting something special, gardening in her backyard, cooking a healthy meal, shopping with her nieces, or attending one of her family's numerous activities. She canned a lot of love over the years, and most of the food came from her garden, she made some of the best desserts and jellies for her family and friends. She had an extraordinary personality, a loving heart, the brightest smile, and a distinctive, contagious laugh that will never be forgotten!
Donna was married to Harold “Harry“ Myrum for 27 years, and while they did not have children, their hearts opened up to Jesus, which transformed their lives. Their faith guided them to seek true joy and happiness in their lives through acts of kindness and helping others. Their generosity continued to enrich their lives, even after they went their separate ways.
Survivors left to mourn her passing are her beloved sister, Jean (Jim) Johnson, brother, Stanley Johnson, sister-in-law, Sharon Johnson, brother-in-law, Phillip Resch, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Dennis and Phillip Johnson, and two sisters Ardelle Brein and Margaret Resch.
Sadness should not take part in this grieving process once comfort is found knowing our cherished memories of Donna can always be found in our hearts, thoughts, and lives. Comfort can also be found in the gospel shared by followers of Jesus, as we have faith that we'll one day be reunited.
There will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate all that she bequeathed to those who were blessed by her beautiful soul on Friday, May 10th, at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw, 671 Snelling Ave S, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13th at the Sinclair Township Cemetery in Leonard. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley will assist with the burial arrangements.
A Memorial to Donna may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
