Age 79, passed away peacefully at his residence in St. Paul, MN on August 5th. Gene was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Sophie Pilarski; and brother, Roy Pilarski of Cottage Grove. He is survived by his loving daughter, Marie Pilarski of Coon Rapids, MN; brother, Duane (Carol) Pilarski of Ashby, MN; sister-in-law, Fran Pilarski; and sister, Phyllis. He is also survived by special friends at Hiawatha Cleaners and grandcat, Hope.
Gene grew up in South Minneapolis and worked for Falconer Dry Cleaners for 40 years. He ended his career at Hiawatha Cleaners. He served proudly in the Armed Forces 1961-1963. Gene loved gardening, fishing and hunting at his former home in Ashby, MN. He also enjoyed playing the accordion, dancing and cheering for the Vikings. A big thank you to all of his caregivers through the years, including the staff at Lyngblomsten Care Center and Allina Hospice. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
