Fred "Butch" Kast

A life-long West Sider, Butch graduated Humboldt High School in 1977. He spent six years in the Marine Corps, and one year in the Army Reserves. After his service, he worked at the Pioneer Press for 28 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, working with wood, Halloween, his '65 'Cuda, the Miami Dolphins, the Minnesota Wild, and sports of all kinds. He was a mechanic, baker, handyman, Den Leader, bowler, coach, fan, and most of all a proud father. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred Sr.; sister, Diana; granddaughter, Destiny; grandson, Kyle; and best friend, Joe Vogel. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jo Ann; mother, Rochelle "Pinky"; sons, Robert "Bob" (Tasha), Dave, William "Bill"(Molly); grandchildren, Junior, Hannah, Jonathan, Mason, Alyson, Tyler, Stella, and Claire; siblings, Patti Reis, Lenny Wood, Mike, Rich, Kevin, and Ron. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 27th, 3:00PM at SIMPLE TRADITIONS by BRADSHAW, 488 Humboldt Ave., St. Paul. Visitation 1:00-3:00PM, prior to the service.
