Gary Willard Williams

Age 83, of Maple Grove, passed away November 29, 2021.  Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen, his parents, Clyde and Mertyce Collins, Brothers Michael Collins, Dennis Collins and Donald Collins, sister Marie Collins (Baas) and daughter Julie (Williams) Dubak.  Gary grew up in Alexandria, graduated from Central High School in 1956.  Gary joined the Navy in 1956 and received an honorable discharge in 1960.  Gary is survived by daughter Dawn Montoya of Livermore, California; son Shaun (Linda) Williams of Bloomington, Minnesota; sister Patricia Owens of Osakis, Minnesota; grandchildren Danielle, Jonathan and Brandon Montoya, Jessica Benshoof and Logan and Hailey Williams; great-grandchildren Elijah Marquina (6), Ezekiel Marquina (2) and Dante Montoya (3); several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m., at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (promptly at 10:45 a.m. Assembly Area #3).  A celebration of life, hosted by the family, will be held immediately following the committal at Sport’s Page, 9014 Lyndale Avenue South, Bloomington, Minnesota.  All are welcome.
