Age 94 of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021. Survived by loving daughter, Linda (Enrique) Huerta; granddaughters, Melinda (DeShaune) Poe, Sonia (Kenny) Jackson, Norina Huerta; great-grandchildren, Andre, Lorenzo, Elijah, Devon, Brielle, Aliyah; siblings, Francisca Ortiz, Ramon Mendez; sister-in-law, Tina Vasquez; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Pablo Vasquez; parents, Martin and Pascuala Mendez; brothers, Manuel, Felix, Tomas, Santiago; and many in-laws in St. Paul, Minnesota and Laredo, Texas. Lupe was a determined, cheerful person who was always learning. She influenced many generations of young people as a teacher’s aide. She was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed dancing, music, and spending time in her garden tending to her flowers. Most of all, she loved her family.
Special thanks to the staff at Cerenity Humboldt for their dedicated 24/7 care. Bless you. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Thursday, October 7 at ST. STANISLAUS CHURCH, 398 W Superior St, with visitation one hour prior. Masks will be required. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
