Harold Norman Hjelle

Harold Hjelle died peacefully on June 25, 2024 in Woodbury, MN. Harold was born on June 15, 1938 in Thief River Falls, MN to parents Henry Norman Hjelle & Elsie (Gunderson) Hjelle.

Harold graduated in 1956 from Thief River Falls HS and in 1960 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from his beloved NDSU Bisons. He was the 1st in his family to graduate from college. Harold married Henrietta Francis Nies on July 27, 1962 and was a loving husband to her until she died January 4, 2016.

Harold is survived by his sons Mark and Erik; his daughters in law Susan and Teri; his 3 married grandchildren Mara Bischoff (Lars), Erica Gjervold (Matthew), Sean (Caroline); and 7 Great Grandchildren Quinn, Mila, George, Henry, Emmett, Noah, and Vincent.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Church in the Main Worship Hall located in Mahtomedi, MN on Monday, July 29, 2024, with a visitation from 1-2 pm and the service from 2-3 pm.

Collected memorials will be donated by the family to Hospice of the Midwest Minnesota.
