Helma Loretta Thor Rogers, 94, of St. Paul, passed away on December 1, 2019 at United Hospital following a stroke.Helma was born in Wilton, ND to Oscar and Pauline (Meth) Thor. After high school graduation she moved to St. Paul and was employed at Western Electric Company where she met Howard (Jack) Rogers. They were married in 1949 and had three daughters, Christine, Diane, and Rose Marie. Helma is survived by her three daughters, Christine Rogers (Barb Meryhew), Diane Spicer (Dan Debe), and Rose Marie Town (Dennis); sister-in-law Joyce Rogers; grandchildren Adrienne Smith, Mark Spicer, Denise Koltes, Erin Spicer, Rich Town, and Katie Reinke; 11 greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard (Jack); her parents; sisters Sadie Thor, Viola Anderson, Rosie Rosenau, and Erma Sundblad; as well as numerous family members and good friends.Memorial Service Monday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at CHEROKEE PARK UNITED CHURCH (371 Baker St. W) with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cherokee Park United Church or to donor’s choice. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
