Jacqueline (Jackie) Hallcock

January 12, 1947 - February 20, 2025

Age 78, of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 20, 2025 after an extraordinarily courageous and hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Fahye (Ahern) Yahnke; sister-in-law, Lois; nephews, Eric and John. She is survived by her daughters, Kristen (Calvin), Katie (Jason), Kelsey (Nate); grandchildren, Gavin, Camille and Jasmine; siblings, Barb (Bob), Heather, Shannon (Terri); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Jackie devoted her life to being a selfless, loving mother of three and a lifelong educator. Born and raised in Elmore, Minnesota, she graduated high school in 1965 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Education from the University of Minnesota-Mankato. While at the University, she met Vernon Hallcock of Northfield. Vernon and Jackie married in 1969, the marriage lasted 17 years, the friendship and family endured. She received her Master’s in Education from St. Mary’s University, studying on evenings and weekends while working full time when her youngest was a teen. She began her professional career at Globe College, afterward accepting a position in the Business Department at Rosemount High School where she dedicated the next 30+ years to teaching.

Jackie was a cherished friend, colleague and confidante; kind, warm-hearted and funny. She loved great conversation and spending her time with family and friends; annual lake trips with her girlfriends, lunches with former coworkers, class reunions in Elmore and trips with her extended family to Cass Lake and Panama City Beach. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, they brought her so much joy. She also loved painting, doing her daily Wordle, reading and just sitting with her beloved cat, Norma, while observing the extensive wildlife that visited her yard.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter and love and will be greatly missed.
