Jared, James L.
73 of Saint Paul, went home to heaven on June 26, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Wichita, Kansas to J. Keith and E. Geraldine Jared on October 21, 1943, Jim graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis and had a variety of sales careers in the paint, insurance and car industries. His favorite career came in the form of driving over-the-road semi-trucks and group tour buses, as he loved to travel and see new places. He was an avid Twins fan and watched the Vikings every Sunday they played, though he said he didn't care about them. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping and continued to enjoy this pastime even after his stroke made it more difficult for him.
Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Melinda and nephew, Kenneth. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Paula, children, Dawn (Scott) Robinson, Mark Jared, Tim Jared, Dan (Julie) Jared and Angela (Mitchell) Humphreys, sister Janet (Richard) Kerr, 3 nieces, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his faithful Schnoodle, Jasper.
Special thanks to the staffs at Southview Acres, New Harmony Care Center and The Estates at Chateau for their ongoing care through some challenging situations. Thank you to HealthEast and Allina Hospices for their help through this difficult journey.
Memorial service will be conducted at 2PM on Saturday, July 8th at Riveriew Baptist Church, 14 West Moreland, West St. Paul. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM until 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverview Baptist Church or an organization of your choosing.
