Passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Southview Acres Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 11:30AM at CHURCH OF ST. MATTHEW, corner of Hall and Robie. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Matthew's Mens Club.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette and brother, Gary. Survived by the love of his life of 63 years, Elaine; children, Daniel (Pat), David (Kathy), Douglas (LaVerne), Lisa Magill and Lori (John) Madison; 13 grandchildren and 6 A½ great grandchildren. Jim was a lifetime member of St. Matthew's Mens Club. He also was a founding member of the West Side Youth Hockey Association. He worked countless hours to ensure that lack of financial resources was not a barrier to the kids on the West Side of St. Paul who wanted to play hockey. He spent 35 years working in federal service at the 934th Air Force Reserve Wing. He loved to fish and play cribbage and passed on the love to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of his beloved Green Bay Packers. GO PACK GO!!! His request for this obituary was "Jim died"
