John Edward Davis
Dad, Grand-dad, Friend; the Dry Humor man passed away December 15, 2020 from complications of Covid 19 at the age of 87. Survived by Peggy, Ted (Andrea), and Loren (Cheryl), much-loved grandchildren August and Alexandra, former wife Connie, and special friends Ted and Carol Buckmaster, Burt Scott and Adrienne Raben.
John was born January 20, 1933 in Minneapolis and grew up in Edina the fourth son of Edward L. Davis and Engry Liljegren Davis. He enjoyed being the kid brother of Earl, Ken, and Jerry. His stories of growing up in Edina during the war were legion and very funny.
He graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School and the University of Minnesota. He proudly served in the United States Army, climbing mountains in Colorado and building bridges in Alaska.
He had a long career as a CPA. Many thanks to John’s great clients who needed him long after he retired. You kept him active, engaged and happy.
Thank you to the good people at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul. There will be a small family gathering in January and party in his honor when we can gather again.
Please wear your mask.
A private family service will be Saturday, January 23, 11:00 AM. The service will be livestreamed at the link below.
