Joseph "Joe" Upsher II age 88, of Saint Paul, passed away on Sunday, September 10th 2023

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Upsher and Ethel Lee Scarver; his daughters Kim Upsher, Darlene Humphrey, and Bridget Lilly; and his son David Upsher

He will be sadly missed by his partner of over 50 years Barbara Lilly; his children Joseph Upsher III, Val Upsher, Brian Upsher, Faith Upsher, Steven Upsher, Elbert Lilly, Vernon Lilly; hIs Grandchildren David Upsher Jr.  Leah Durham, Valerie Ada, Anika Steele, Damion Upsher, Layne Bellamy II, Michael Bellamy, Maria Hobby, Mariah Hobby, Tierra Hughes, Brian Upsher Jr. Hasan Upsher, Mia Upsher, Kierra Upsher, Lya Upsher, Haila Upsher, Shanee Humphrey, Alvin Humphrey III, Alandria Lilly, Kianna Lilly, Cierra Lilly, Vernon Lilly II; and numerous great grandchildren; family members and friends.

A longtime painter and decorator, Joe always had an eye for improvement. He specialized in turning a simple house into a home and turning people into family. When in a conversation with Joe you'd often times find yourself enraptured by his harsh, honest sense of humor weather you wanted to hear it or not, his strength of independence, and his eternally joyful demeanor.

In his free time, you could often find him schooling people in Dominoes, fishing whenever possible and watching a football game. He also enjoyed long drives and traveling around the United States. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw, 488 Humboldt Avenue at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23rd with a visitation an hour prior.
