Kevin Donnell Pollard

Kevin D. Pollard, 56, of St Paul. Minnesota, passed away on April 11th, 2023, after struggling with several long term illnesses, and eventually, an unexpected heart condition.

Kevin was born on June 7, 1966, to Alton B. Pollard, Jr., and Lena L. Pollard. He was baptized at a young age. After graduating from Como Senior High School in 1984, he went on to study journalism at Boston University. He began working at The Tennessean as a journalist, before making Africa his permanent residence for 4 years.

In 1997, Kevin met Sylvia (Nyabango) in Zimbabwe, Africa. They later married and went on to have two children, Lena Gloria Tatenda Pollard and Kevin Tinashe Pollard.

Kevin is preceded in death by his oldest brother, Charles M. Pollard; mother, Lena L. Pollard; and other beloved relatives. Kevin leaves to cherish his wife, Sylvia; daughter, Lena; son, Kevin; his father, Alton B. Pollard, Jr.; older brother, Alton (Jessica) Pollard, III; older sister Donna (Mitchell) Garcia; and a host of family and friends.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed watching football, baseball, and nightly movies. He developed a love for traveling, and enjoyed various genres of food. He loved his family very much and he would extend his kindness to all.

Services will be held at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw, 671 South Snelling Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55116, on Friday, April 21, 2023. The visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 11am.
