Lily-Beth (Wahlberg) Frentz, age 79, has gone to be with her Savior. She fought off death many times and was ready for her next adventure.
She was born October 22, 1938, lived in Kerrick, Askov, and St. Paul, Minnesota. Attended Gutterson Elementary School, graduated from Murray High School in St. Paul, and attended the University of Minnesota and was a supporter of the college of education.
She was preceded on this journey by her mother, Vivian; father, Leonard; mother, Eileen; husband, Maynard Frentz; and son, Fred Frentz. She is survived by her sons, Patrick McDougall, Daniel and Eric Frentz; daughter, Carol Bordson; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild; sister, Pamela Schroeder, and brothers, Mark and Kevin Wahlberg; nieces and nephews too numerous to mention; cousins and their children and grandchildren.
She was able to reinvent herself to meet the circumstances of her life. When her mother, Vivian, died, she adapted. When her father married Eileen, she and her new mother began their life adventure together. She was the quintessential older sister to her younger siblings. She spent time teaching in Europe, found and lost love. She returned to teaching and continued her education, receiving masters and doctorate degrees in Education. She married Maynard Frentz in 1983 and became a mother to his children. She was embraced by and welcomed into the extended Frentz family. Maynard's death in 1992 brought another new adventure. Her life was further enriched in 2014 when she met her son, Patrick. Patrick had been searching for his birth mother, and when he found her, she felt her life had come full circle and was complete.
Music was her gift, it poured from her as if by magic. Her photographic skills allowed her to capture life around her. Her pictures provided us with another glimpse into her view of the world.
Her faith was paramount in her life and formed the basis for her life's journey. She attended Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where her musical talents were utilized often and in many ways. She was a long-time member of the Ruth Group. She served on many committees. She was devout and constant in her prayer life.
She was active in the Retired Teachers Association for St. Paul; she was constant in her attendance of high school class reunions.
A beloved friend to many. Her circle of friends was ever expanding. She had the ability to pull people into her orbit and keep them with her. She had the gift of making one feel as if they were the most special person she knew. As time went by, we realized the special part of that was her, and not the rest of us.
