Margaret Mary “Peg” Killen, of Oakdale, MN, daughter of John and Mary Barbara Killen died suddenly on May 2, 2021 at the age of 65. Peg graduated from the University of Minnesota with Bachelor of Science degree. She worked as a sign language Interpreter at St Paul Technical Vocational Institute for 10 years, before pursuing a Master’s degree from Mankato State. She then worked for the Department of Employment and Economic Development for the State of Minnesota in Vocational Rehabilitation Services for another 30 years as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor for people with disabilities. She was Rehabilitation Area Manager, when she retired. Peg hoped to winter in Brownsville, Texas, where she had purchased and refurbished a mobile home, and where she had many friends at Palm Resaca Mobile Home Park. Unfortunately, Covid interrupted her plans to do that this past winter. Peg loved animals and volunteered fostering many cats for a no kill shelter called Caring for Cats in North St Paul. She loved fishing and camping with family, especially at Trout Lake, and spending time with friends. She loved to laugh and had a ready smile. She loved being Auntie to her 10 nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews. She was an active member in her church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oakdale and ran a Zoom bible study. Peg is survived by siblings; Claire, Mark, Kathleen and Patricia. She will be buried in De Graff, MN along side her grandparents. Memorial Service Friday, June 4 at 1:00 PM at SIMPLE TRADITIONS by BRADSHAW (671 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul) with a livestream provided by the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to TPT, MPR, World Wildlife Federation, or Caring for Cats. In accordance with local regulations. masks are required indoors and attendance in person is limited.
