At St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by members of her family. Marj was born April 26, 1930, in St. Paul. Her life was full of love for natural beauty and all living things, kindness and generosity toward others, faith and compassion. Now that she has left us, we'll miss her more than words can say. Marj is survived by her husband Craig, son John Gaertner (Becky), daughters Susan Gaertner (John Wodele) and Cynthia Gaertner (Brad Pahl); grandchildren Emily, Alison, Hannah, Alec, Tony and Nick; brother Greg Bowman, sister Barbara Wegleitner, nieces and nephews, and beloved golden retriever Molly. Funeral service Monday, Sept. 28, 11 A.M. at HAZEL PARK CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 1831 East Minnehaha Ave., St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior. Interment Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Union Gospel Mission of St. Paul or Minnesota Animal Humane Society.
