Martha Jones

d. March 2, 2021

Martha was born on September 13, 1948 in Gilmore, Arkansas to the late Clarence and Rosie Lee Jackson.

Martha lived in Chicago, Illinois, attended Oakenwald Elementary, DuSable High School and Kennedy King College. She was a long time employee of One Stop Foods. She resided briefly in Terre Haute, Indiana until her move to St. Paul, Minnesota.

Martha was the eldest child and you knew she was the BIG SISTER. She leaves us all with so many memories of her jokes, stories, and dances. She always had a story to tell and will have you bent over laughing. The smiles and laughs will never be forgotten. Martha Ann Jones passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Martha has now joined her son Levander Lockett, her mother Rosie Lee Jackson, her brothers Cleotus and Cleveland Lockett, Jermaine Jackson and her sister Willie Mae Jackson, who all preceded her in death.

Martha is survived by her daughter Laura Jackson and her grand niece Kearra Jackson, who she raised and has taken care of since birth as one of her own. In addition, with the passing of her sister, Willie Mae, she took on the responsibility of raising several of her nieces and nephews (Charise Jackson, Anthony Richardson, and Allen Richardson). She is also survived by her grandchildren Levander (Lil Chucky) Jr., Martha, Anissa, Ontario, Antionette, La'Keshia, Reginald, Jermaine, Mister, Kimberly, Danetta and William. Ten great grandchildren: Keyon, Ciarra, Najayla, Seven, Jacari, Kareena, Mekhi, Michyah, Alana, and Tre'von. Two great-great grandkids: Niema and Amish. Three sisters: Jessie, Nellie (Fred) and Ella (Andrew) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
