Mary Irene (Pollard) Short

Mary Irene Short, age 76, of St. Paul, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on May 1, 2023. Mary was a steadfast Christian and devoted caregiver all her life. She demonstrated her passion for health and medicine in many ways - during her professional life as a Nursing Assistant, and in her private life. She was always willing to give advice whether you wanted to hear it or not. As a rule, she took pride in her appearance and the appearance of her beloved children. Mary's lessons have been passed down through multiple generations. She will be remembered for her thoughtful, thorough, and caring approach to life. Her family will miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Bessie; and siblings, Lloyd, Ernestine, Kay Francis, Annette, Louis, William "Sunny," Paul and Doris. Survived by her husband, Louis; children, Jacquelyn (Ronnie), Tameka, and Taiwan (Cynthia);grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher), Jasmine, Darrell, Domingo, Luna, and Taiwan II; great-grandchildren, Neveah, Christopher Jr., and Esa; siblings, Alton Jr., Julia, Leroy, James (Rosemary), Janie, and Gail (Charles); along with nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

She was the most unexpected of gifts.

Funeral service to be held at 12PM, on Friday, May 12, at Summit Church (845 Summit Ave., Saint Paul, Minnesota). Visitation one hour prior. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul. Repass to follow.
