Mary Ellen Towey

Mary Ellen Towey, age 92, of South St. Paul, passed away peacefully May 19, 2021. Mary Ellen was a dynamic and hardworking woman. She was dedicated to her career as an occupational therapist and delighted in the many places her work would bring her. She held her faith close to her heart, and walked through the world with charisma and a dash of wry humour. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at The Listening House and as a Reading Buddy and Pen Pal for Second Graders. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, and traveling with her friends. Preceded in death by parents,  Edwin J. and Alice M. (Farrell) Towey; and sisters Patricia (Towey) Caldwell and Kathleen (Towey) O’Brien. Survived by nieces and nephews, Mary (Steve Weiss) Caldwell, Mike (Marie) Caldwell, Kevin (Donna Sund) Caldwell, John Caldwell, Pat (Sue) O’Brien, Mike (Barbara Harris) O’Brien, Bridget (David Bohline) O’Brien, Colleen (Jon) O’Brien-Berglund, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Memorial Service Tuesday, June 29 at 11:00 AM at SIMPLE TRADITIONS by BRADSHAW (488 Humboldt Ave., St Paul) with visitation one hour prior. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to The Listening House or Cerenity Care Humboldt OT/Activities Department.
