Michael passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2023. Preceded in death by parents Alvin and Arlene Marcotte. Survived by longtime partner Sue Quirt and her daughter Starr; brothers Gary, James (Ronnie), and Daniel (Julie); nephew Garrett; and nieces Kaylin, Marielle, Mackenzie, and Elise.

After graduating from St. Paul Central High School (1968), Mike attended Gustavus Adolphus College (class of 1972). He went on to a long career in technical business services with more than 30 years at Xerox Corporation. Mike was dedicated to his profession and was very well-suited to what he did for a living.

In retirement, Mike had time to pursue his interests in woodworking, home repair, and fixing up 'lost toys'. Mike loved using his many tools to make things work again and he could truly fix almost anything. A skillful, patient craftsman, he spent many hours in his shop making or repairing things he often gave away to other people.

Michael was a sweet and gentle soul, one who was also rock-steady and deeply loyal to family and friends. Mike instinctively cared for others in any way he could, sometimes by fixing stuff and other times by just showing up to help with whatever. Friends of Mike's were his friends for life.
