Molly Jane (Lopatofsky) Brown, 38, passed away September 21, 2018 in Edina, Mn. due to complications from brain cancer.
After being born and raised in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, Molly graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Ks., where she met her husband, Philip, and where they were married on June 1, 2002.
Molly followed her passion for teaching teens about Christ and pursued a career in full-time Christian service. Molly served as a youth pastor at Rockland Community Church in Golden, Co. before relocating to the Minneapolis area. Molly graduated with a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 2010, and served locally at St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church.
Molly's friends and family remember her infectious laugh, love of reading, and her passion for building the community of Christ. Molly especially loved being a wife and mother and loved reading bedtime stories and singing to her son, Zeke.
Molly is survived by her husband, Philip Brown and son Ezekiel, of the home; her father, David Lopatofsky of Bentonville, Ar.; her mother, Gloria Lopatofsky of Westminster, Co.; her sister, Sara (Steve) Burchard of Westminster, Co.; and her nieces Abby Burchard and Linnea Burchard.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie, Mn. Visitation will be immediately preceding the service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HopeKids, www.hopekids.org or to the college savings fund for Ezekiel Brown (checks made to Waddell and Reed, Ezekiel Brown 529 in the memo or to Philip Brown).
