Mother Maria Moryl, 65, served as Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver for the past 12 years until finishing her second term in September 2019. Died peacefully on Monday, November 2 at the Sister’s Convent in St. Paul, MN, with her loving Sisters praying at her bedside. She was a member of the Congregation for 44 years. She was known for her great missionary zeal to spread God’s love and mercy to all she met. She was born in Biskupice, Poland on January 22, 1955 to Wladyslaw and Maria (Sobota) Moryl. Her father passed away on October 1, 1994 at the age of 77 and her mother is 97 years old. In addition to her mother, Maria of Hartford, CT, she is survived by her siblings: Jadwiga Karas of Utica, NY; Jan Moryl and his wife Maria of Meriden, CT; Stanislaw Moryl and his wife Wanda of Wethersfield, CT; and Teresa Ruchwa and her husband Andrzej of Newington, CT; 15 nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends that loved and cherished her dearly. The family of Mother Maria also wishes to express their appreciation to the Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver and all those that surrounded her with their love, comfort, support and prayers during her illness. A walk-through visitation and prayer services will be held at the convent of the Sisters, Sunday, November 8 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Vespers. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday November 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Oakdale (will be livestreamed).
