Pamela McAlister

Pamela Gail (Klein) McAlister, CCH, RSHom (NA)
Age 72 of Saint Paul, Minnesota, died suddenly on October 6, 2019. Pam was born on October 21, 1946, in Orange, New Jersey, to Donald and Betty Klein. She attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, where she met her first husband, Clyde Ora McAlister. Pam and Clyde married in 1966 and raised two children, Christopher and Meghan.

After Clyde died in 1985, Pam returned to school at Metropolitan State University. After completing her work at Metro State, she pursued additional education at the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. She was then ordained as a Deacon in the Episcopal church. Pam was a gifted writer and her sermons were often engaging stories that she skillfully wove together.

While attending the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, Pam met Gary Stoos. Pam and Gary married in 1989 and celebrated their 30th anniversary earlier this year on April, 29.

Later in life, Pam pursued a career in Classical Homeopathy, extending her ministry into the healing arts. Pam received a diploma from the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy; she then was certified through the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CCH), she joined the Minnesota Homeopathic Association, and the North American Society for Homeopaths (RSHom (NA)). She was very active in health freedoms. Pursuing ongoing education affirmed her life long learner status. She continued graduate-level homeopathic studies with a variety of brilliant homeopathic practitioners throughout the world. This allowed her to combine her love of travel with her enthusiasm for homeopathy and her pursuit of knowledge.

Pam practiced as a  Classical Homeopath in Minnesota. Everyone she treated was shown profound love and respect through this practice of healing. She educated and mentored students at the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy and consulted on cases with colleagues. It is clear that Pam touched the lives of many on very deep levels through her work with homeopathy.

To many, Pam may have appeared to be a quiet person. To those who knew Pam well, they would learn she was an introvert who thrived on connecting deeply, who enjoyed trying new foods, who had a wicked sense of humor, and who loved to create. Aside from her family, Pam's greatest love may have been her love for the ocean. She was at peace when she could smell the salty air and she loved her early morning walks along the shore. She amassed an amazing collection of sea shells from these walks and surrounded herself with these treasures when she was at home, far away from the shore.

In addition to being a gifted writer, Pam enjoyed creating, knitting, weaving, needle-pointing, paper-crafting, playing the piano, singing, experimenting in the kitchen, and tending to her many plants. Although Pam would tell you she was not a fan of cooking/baking, she sure enjoyed reading recipes and finding the perfect cookie cutter or mold to make something special for the holidays.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty Klein, her brother, Bruce Klein, and her first husband, Clyde McAlister. Her second husband, Gary Stoos, died on October 24, 2019. She is survived by five children: Christopher (Val McAlister), Meghan McAlister; and three step children Michael (Cheryl Stoos), Jennifer Stoos (Dan Tysver), Brian (Sharon) Hallstoos; twelve grandchildren Lexus, Sydney, Kelsey, Connor, Cassandra, Savannah, Sawyer, Tatum, Elise, Joplin, Ben, and Sam; niece Lowen Klein (Jason Ross), and nephew Damon (Bushra Klein).

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 11th, 2019, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 4201 Sheridan Ave. S. in Minneapolis at 11 AM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy, 7104 West Lake Street, Saint Louis Park, MN 55426, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Classical Homeopathy.
