Patrick Nickels

Patrick Michael Nickels, age 72, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 28, 2024, from lung cancer.

Patrick served in the U.S. Navy. Patrick was united in marriage to Doreen Dirkx on April 27, 1985. Patrick was the lead singer of the rhythm and blues band Under Suspicion. He also enjoyed gardening and raising bonsai trees. He won 2nd place in the Minnesota State Fair's Horticulture competition for the bonsai tree.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Doreen, of 39 years; son, Brenden Peter; brothers Dennis and Paul; sisters Jamie, Judy, and Annie; and sister-in-law, Rev. Deann Dirkx. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anne, brothers Timothy and James, sister Kathleen, his parents-in-law, Peter and Arlyss Dirkx, and brother-in-law Dennis Dirkx.

Forest Lawn will provide cremation services in partnership with Simple Traditions, 671 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55116. Services are not planned for this time.
