Raymond T. Mills

Age 78, died at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis on 12/13/2022.  His parents, Florence and Raymond Mills and his sister, Maryann Wilson preceded him in death.

He is survived by many friends and acquaintances including those he made on his extensive travels.

Ray was raised in Rochester, NY.  He joined the US Army in 1965 and served in the Viet Nam War. He settled in Minneapolis and worked in Hennepin County District Court Administration for many years. When he retired from public service he moved to Lima, Peru where he lived until 2019 when he returned to Minneapolis.

Ray appreciated the benefits of assisted living and thrived with the excellent medical services he received from local Veterans Administration facilities. The staff at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis embraced Ray and made his ever-increasing limitations bearable. There are no words to express the gratitude we, his friends, have for these heroic, professional women and men who look after their charges, like Ray, with such love and dedication.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1500 Franklin Ave, S.E., Minneapolis.
