Age 72
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and close friends on November 7, 2015. Roberto was born in Jerez Zacatecas Mexico on September 13, 1943. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He served in the Mexican army from 1962-63. He was an accountant in Juarez Mexico for 15 years in a prominent company. He moved with his wife and two eldest children to Minnesota in 1978 and worked for the University of Minnesota until 2001. Roberto was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and participated in many church activities. Roberto was a well-respected and loved man, who loved baseball and had a great sense of humor. Roberto was preceded in death by parents, Leandro Galaviz Munoz and Maria Guadalupe Garay de Galaviz; siblings, Maria Arcadia Galaviz Garay, Maria Raquel Galaviz de Prieto, Jose Alfredo Galaviz Garay. Survived by wife, Josefina Alarcon de Galaviz; children, Diana Galaviz, Roberto Galaviz, Jr, Tania Galaviz de Espinoza, Fabian Galaviz; 10 grandchildren; two sisters; one brother and many nieces and nephews.
