Passed away December 3, 2017. He is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley, parents Isamu (Sam) and Tsuyako (Sue). He is survived by his life partner and what he referred to lovingly as his "virtual wife", Susan Gabrys; her children, Ann (John), Neal (Rene); two grandchildren; sister, Pauline (Shawn), a nephew, and a niece. Roger was a reluctant graduate of South High School in Minneapolis. He wanted to be a graduate of Minneapolis Central High School, however it had closed the year before. Roger was a fan of model trains, computers, and science fiction. He had a giving heart, donating money to cat refuges and food banks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Second Harvest food bank. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 at 11:00AM with visitation 9:00-11:00AM, all at Saint John's Church of Little Canada, 380 Little Canada Rd., Little Canada. Interment at Saint John's Cemetery.
