Age 81, of St. Paul, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2024. Beloved grandmother, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Rosario was born August 21, 1942, in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Fernando Fuentes Castillo and Maria del Rosario Salas Macias.
She moved her family to Chicago and eventually settled in Minnesota - having proudly received a culinary arts degree and working for years Downtown St. Paul as a chef. In addition to spending time with her loved ones, Rosario could be found taking care of her grandkids, cooking, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling back and forth to Mexico to visit her family and friends. She was surrounded by so much love from a large, extended family - and will always be remembered for being in great spirits, and her infinite heart that exuded kindness and generosity to all those who were lucky enough to cross paths with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
She is loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her children, Arturo, Mirna, and Rosario; grandchildren, Jesenia, Frida, Benjamin, Daniel, Suzanna, Joseph, and Aurora; three sisters and two brothers; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Rosario loved her community; in lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice is appreciated.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Simple Traditions by Bradshaw, 488 Humboldt Avenue, St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
