Ruth Marie Roach (Smith)

Born: October 12, 1924 Died: June 11, 2016 Ruth Marie Roach, 91, of Oro Valley, AZ and formerly of St. Paul, MN, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Splendido Memory Care facility in Oro Valley, AZ. Born October 12, 1924 in Manitowoc, WI, she was the daughter of Robert R. and Hazel C. Smith and sister of Robert Smith, all deceased. In 1948, Ruth married Donald E. Roach and enjoyed 48 years together until his death in 1997. They raised their three children in Saint Paul. She was active in her church, PEO, and book club. Ruth was quick with a smile and put all those around her at ease with her warm and gentle manner. Most importantly though, she loved the time spent with family and friends. Ruth will be missed by her three children, Donald (Ann) Roach, Nancy (John) Schaus, and Susan Eich; six grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Willey, Brian (Anna) Roach, Emily Roach, Lisa (Tim) Barker, Molly (Adam Lozeau) Schaus, and Brian Eich; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Barker, Micah Barker, Marit Willey, and Odin Willey. Graveside service and burial Saturday, June 18, 11:00am at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's loving memory to the Salvation Army or the charity of one's choice .
