Sam Walter Pitchford III

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sam Walter Pitchford III on January 3rd, 2025.

Born on May 2nd, 1957, Sam Lived a full life of love, laughter, and joy, leaving a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Sam loved fishing, playing spades and dominos, and his zest for life was unmatched. He thrived in the company of family and friends, enjoying great food-though he famously steered clear of vegetables. His warmth and charisma made him the heart of any gathering, and he never met a moment he didn't embrace with enthusiasm.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Sam Walter Pitchford II; his aunt Catherine Pitchford; and his son Octavius Seabron. He is survived by his mother Ruby Pitchford; his wife of 42 years Melody Pitchford, his siblings Tony Pitchford, Anthony Pitchford, Sandra Pitchford, Cynthia Pitchford, Tracy Pitchford, Denovious Pitchford, Demetrius Lewis. And his cherished daughters- Dai'Vette Madison and Deidra Harris. Along with step-children Lairy and Sachiko Madison.

He also leaves behind a proud legacy behind in his seven grandkids: Airen Olson, Isaiah Olson, Kiara Harris, Keegan Erb, Sedrick Harris, Jr., Kylee Erb, and Gabriella Harris, as well as son-in- law Sedrick Harris, Sr.

Sam's life was a testament to the power of love and connection and living each moment to the fullest. A celebration of life is yet to come.

Sam's vibrant spirit, enduring love, and infectious joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
