Severt Monsen, age 68 of St. Paul, passed away Saturday, December 17th.
Severt was a force to be reckoned with. He had a personality that was larger then life, a booming voice and a heart bigger then a full moon. He exuded confidence, decisiveness, boldness and never once needed the approval of the masses. He was his own self, thoroughly. Severt served in the Vietnam War, a monumental experience that influenced and changed him forever. He believed in Harley's and God. He became a Minister and was a teacher of the belief system he founded "Spiritual Cognition Ignition". He preached kindness and blessed the miracle of life every time his grandson, Balin visited. He mentored his son, Ryder to be the man he is today, the two of them were a team, partners in crime, through the ups and downs of life. Ryder tells stories of the two of them that rival movie plots and bestseller books. When he smiled, his eyes did too. When he was mad, there was no mistaking it. To say there will be a void is an understatement, the world will not be as vibrant as it was with Severt in it. Severt is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Noreen Monsen, and his sister, Julaine Johnson. He is survived by his loving son, Ryder (Tessa), and grandson, Balin; sister, Amber(Mark) Cameron; nieces and nephews Brook, Kerstin, Autumn, Bridget, Troy; brother-In-Law, Jim Johnson and many other loving family and friends. There will be a visitation between 2:00-4:00 PM and a memorial service at 4PM on Friday, December 23rd at SIMPLE TRADITIONS BY BRADSHAW, 671 South Snelling Avenue, St.Paul, MN.
