Susan A. Nelson
SUSAN'S MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. WE WILL UPDATE THE OBITUARY WHEN WE KNOW THE NEW SERVICE DETAILS.
Nelson, Susan A. died peacefully on February 4. She is survived by siblings, William and Corinna Nelson, and by many friends gathered over her lifetime. Everyone who met Sue was struck by her warmth and wit. She had a finely-tuned sense of humor and could laugh at the absurdity of life every day. She loved words in all forms: books, the New York Times, and most of all, conversation. She loved Standard Poodles, a good cup of coffee, and the north shore of Lake Superior. She was a confirmed Anglophile and admired Winston Churchill and British actors, and loved traveling in the British Isles. She is a graduate of Minneapolis West High School, and the University of Minnesota Law School. She transformed her own challenges with mental illness into leadership and service, serving as a chairperson, group leader, and trainer for the Minnesota Depressive and Manic Depressive Association. She is preceded in death by her twin, Robert Nelson, and by her parents, Helen and Thomas Nelson.
A memorial will be held for Sue on Sunday, March 22, from 1-3 p.m., at Cerenity Humboldt Care Center, 512 Humboldt Ave., St. Paul MN, 55107
