Tammy Rice

Tammy Lynne Nickel Rice, 55, of Willmar, passed away peacefully at her home on

September 16, 2024. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Jerry;

daughter, Sabrina; aunts June, Nancy, and Jeanette; Jerry's extended family; special

friends, MaryAnne and Paulie Rabenort; a host of special lifelong friends; and her

beloved cats, Jazzy and Nala. She was preceded in death by her parents and

grandparents.

Tammy grew up in Mounds View, Minnesota, and graduated from Central High School. Despite being born with physical and intellectual disabilities, she found richness in her

life, filled with supportive friends and family. She had an honest personality, was

transparent with her feelings and emotions, and was strong-willed and kind-hearted.

Tammy cherished the companionship of people and animals and found a sense of

belonging through her involvement in Special Olympics and Crowning Achievements.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Simple

Traditions by Bradshaw, 671 Snelling Avenue South, St. Paul. Visitation will begin one

hour prior to the service. Memorials to the family are preferred.
