It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph Grady, of Woodbury, Minnesota, who died at home on January 31st, 2025 at the age of 75. A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Tom was known for his warm, infectious spirit and his dedication to those he loved.

Tom was born January 6, 1950 on the South Side of Chicago to the late George and Marcella Grady. Tom attended Brother Rice High School in Chicago, IL and St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN.

He is survived by his daughters Colleen (Anthony) Commisso, Kaitlin (Alex Weisbrod) Grady, and Kelly (Ryan) Hammerquist; his grandchildren Emma, Kaeleigh, Tony, and Grace Commisso and Matilda and Maxwell Hammerquist. Tom is also survived by sister Mary Pat Grady and sister-in-law Kathleen Grady. Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael Grady, and his granddaughter Eloise Hammerquist.

Tom was a treasured friend to many, the majority of his relationships spanning decades. Tom cherished the many trips he took with the guys. He was always the storyteller who brought laughter and joy everywhere he went. His advice was always thoughtful, poignant & full of wisdom, a reflection of his deep understanding of life and people.

Whether helping a neighbor or offering guidance to those close to him, his counsel was always given with sincerity and care. As a successful businessman and entrepreneur, Tom worked both locally and nationally in promotional marketing; including waving the Minnesota Twins on to the World Series with the Homer Hanky. A devoted caretaker, Tom took great pride in the Colby Lake pool, ensuring that it was a place of joy for families and friends to gather. His passion for sports was well-known; Tom's athleticism kept him active and engaged throughout his life. Tom enjoyed daily trips to Lifetime, time on the golf course with his friends, and success in football and racquetball throughout the years. Tom loved nothing more than being out on the water boating with family and friends. Above all, Tom was the rock of his family. Tom treasured time spent with family, particularly his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. His presence at family gatherings was a source of warmth and stability, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He will forever be a beacon of love and guidance.

A celebration will be held to honor Tom's life and memory at a later date in Door County, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's memory to Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.

After a lifetime of laughter and love we say, "Goodbye Old Friend."
