Victor Santiago

d. December 14, 2021

Victor Luis Santiago, 22 years of age was born in St. Paul Minnesota on December 7th, 1999 passed away on December 12th, 2021. Victor lived in Bloomington, MN was called home to heaven to be what will likely be God's most talkative and curious angel.

An active, talkative and curious child, Victor kept his parents. grandparents, aunts & uncles and teachers very busy. When Victor was 4 3/4 he thrilled to welcome his sister Sophia to our family and so very proud to take on his new role as a big brother.
Victor lived life as a Tigger – constantly moving, talking, lifting others up. From the time Victor was a little boy, he would add more energy, light and well, noise to any space he entered. From the time Victor learned to walk to his last day with us on earth, he could not walk up a flight of stairs without sounding like a herd of elephants nor did he ever master the ability to whisper. Victor had two volumes, loud and louder.

Victor exemplified charisma and caring for others from the time he was in daycare to his dying day. Victor went out of his way to engage with and care for others. Victor did not discriminate between an acquaintance and a friend. Victor could and did literally talk with anyone who would stand still long enough for Victor to flash his welcoming smile, introduce himself and ask their name, then that was it a new friendship was made. Victor was a giver, especially of his time. He was always eager and proud to help a friend in need.

Like Dom from one of Victor's favorite movies 'The Fast and the Furious' Victor lived his life 1/4 mile at a time and he packed a lot of living into his short time on this earth.

Victor was preceded in death by Grandpa Jerry, Grandpa Don, Uncle Pepe, Uncle Bill, his dogs Clifford and Taylor. Victor is survived by his dad Victor Santiago, mom Heidie Santiago, sister Sophia Santiago, dogs Star and Luna and cats Sophie and Ernie. Grandma Chris Mailand, Abuelos Mauro Santiago Giron, Teresa Mejia Montes, Aunt Jodie (Dan), Tias Lulu (Ramiro), Alejandra(Aracely), Cristina, Yesenia Guadalupe (Aaron), Aunt Cindy (Bill), Uncle Steve (Debbie), Bruce (MaryAnne) and cousins/primos Trevor (Miranda), Elisha, Estefania, Aaron, Diego, Mateo, Rayha, Layla, Brayden, Daisy, Own and Noah. Many other cousins and a big circle of friends.

Comments about Covid-19:
Everyone around the world has made sacrifices due to this awful pandemic, we understand Victor is not alone in this. However, since Victor's passing is a reminder how short life can be, we are choosing not to delay his final sendoff and will hold the service the week after Christmas.
* Victor graduated high school and accepted our reasoning for postponing his graduation party.
* Victor turned 21 during the pandemic and also understood that we could not celebrate in the traditional way due to lockdown requirements. He also handled this disappointment well too.
We will offer masks to anyone who would like one and while we encourage everyone to get vaccinated if you have not already, it is not a requirement to attend Victor's service. We respect those who decide not to or cannot attend and can catch up another time. If you have symptoms of cold/flu, we kindly ask that you stay home.
