Age 101, originally from St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016, after loving care at New Perspectives Assisted Living and Hospice Service in Roseville. William (Bill) is survived by his children, Diane Jefferson, Richard (Kathy) Jents, and Marsha (Gary) Garner; grandchildren, Jeff (Lauren) Jefferson, Melissa (Julio) Martinez, Richard Jr. and James Jents, Amy (Jason) Sanborn, and Adam Garner; great-grandchildren, Kensley and Ashlyn Jefferson, Zachary and Gabriel Martinez, and William Sanborn; sister-in-law, Winnie Ackerman; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mavis Ruth, of 54 years of marriage; brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and many friends and neighbors. Service Tuesday, 10:00 A.M. at CALVARY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 341 Hamline Avenue South, St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Calvary Lutheran church.
