Yolanda Brown

Yolanda (Popcorn) Brown was born on July 27, 1965, in Chicago, IL. She was the second of eight children born to the late Hazel Brown. Yolanda attended William H. Brown Elementary School and later Richard T. Crane High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Social Science from Metropolitan State University.

Yolanda was known for her kindness and her love of spending time with her family. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and generous heart.

On May 19, 2024, Yolanda departed this life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Brown; her brother, Herbert Brown; her sister, Loretta Brown-Body; and her nephew, Damone Rhodes.

Yolanda leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters Yolanta (Shay) Brown and Appalonia Monique Brown; her grandchildren; Dejavareah Brown, De'Marji Brown, Ki'Nyah Hobson, Kimari Hobson her great grandchild Ramyr Young her siblings Maurice Brown, Marcella Brown, Jose Brown, Chinese Brown, and Fargo Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
